Miyako Ohashi
Born: 1976 in Handa, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. In 1999 she completed her studies in Western Oil Painting at Nagoya Art University.
I was fortunate to be introduced to Miyako through my Japanese art dealer friend and associate Taro Migishi in 2002. I visited Miyako on a few occasions while visiting Japan. To witness the artist in her studio was a great inspiration and honour as I felt her sensitivity and love of colour and texture in her compositions.
We’ve enjoyed working with Miyako Ohashi celebrating her first North American solo exhibition in 2004 at our Toronto gallery, followed by numerous successful solo and group exhibitions through the years.
Her works are very beautiful, subtle, and emotional. We have continued to build a growing number of collectors for her paintings in Canada. I look forward to introducing her works to our collectors in our new Hamilton gallery.
